ATW has produced battery assembly equipment for both the consumer and automotive markets.  Technologies that we have provided include material handling, tray handling, plate stacking, welding, and assembly.  When looking at battery assembly processes we have a wide range of experience in several markets with torquing equipment, robot assembly and material handling, automated banding, leak testing and packaging.  Many of these systems have also included a high degree of part tracking.  Utilizing our capability in these areas has provided our customers with high value engineered systems.

Battery Processing Project

The Battery Plate / Book Handling System is designed to provide a buffer of plates between the Vacuum Stacker Machine (VSM) and the Cast-On-Strap (COS) Machine - that due to minor process timing differences, allows the COS to operate with least impact to productivity.  Additionally, the system inspects for alternating "positive" & "negative" plates, so that only "good" books are allowed to travel to the COS machine
